Having not eaten anything substantial since poached eggs for breakfast, whilst feeling wind swept and cold my belly was begging for a good Mexican.
We had tried to get into La Choza last time I came down but at 7.30 it was already packed! You can't book a table in advance but you can make a reservation on arrival. My suggestion is to get there early!
This time we arrived promptly at 6.30. La Choza was already pretty full but we managed to get a table (thankfully). Be prepared to share a table with some neighbours, although this really wasn't a sacrifice in comparison to the food.
The restaurant is packed full of Mexican-esque stuff including a lot of skulls. There's no holding back on the decorations and it looks awesome!
They even handed out blankets to warm everyone up from the bitter cold outside.
It didn't help my Rudolph nose though!
We ordered nachos to start and they were truly delicious! Labelled 'proper nachos' by George, he kept asking me: 'keep them in the middle' and 'stop pulling them towards you'. I couldn't help but twist the guacamole side round to me... It was so tangy and tasty!
We both ordered burritos for mains. As self acclaimed burrito experts we agreed they were up to our high standards. To be honest it's quite hard to go wrong with a burrito though! I had a prawn burrito... Which was a nice change and something new I've not seen before!
